How Can Community Organizations Participate & Benefit from Servapalooza?
Community organizations are invited to host Service Stations to support their cause.
What is a Service Station?
Service Stations are hosted by community organizations advocating for their cause, recruiting future volunteers and most importantly providing fun service activities that help their cause and give back to the community. Service Stations are organized by similar interest area: Environment & Animals; Health & Human Services; Youth, Education & Arts; and Hunger & Homelessness.
What is a Servapalooza Service Activity?
A service activity is a table-top service project that allows participants to sample possible ongoing volunteer opportunities your organization offers. Examples of possible service activities are creating place mats for food services organizations, letter-writing for environmental organizations, crafts made with love for senior organizations, thank-you notes for your volunteers, letters of support for your fundraising or advocacy campaign or whatever project will meet YOUR needs.
If your activity is age specific please include that in the description on the application. Please keep in mind that we have a variety of participants attending Servapalooza, from young children to adults.

How do we get help for our Service Station the day-of the event if needed?
To help manage your service station activity, your organization can be provided with the necessary volunteers, at your request, to help run your service station. Volunteers will help by facilitating the service activity, assisting event participants, or any other way to fit your needs. How? It's easy. Just indicate the number of volunteers on your application and volunteers will be there to help you from set up to clean up on April 25th at Servapalooza.

Organizations will be selected on a first come first serve basis, but the deadline to submit an online application is March 12, 2010. You will be notified by March 19, 2010 if you have been selected.
Service Station Booth Rentals
The day of the event, each selected organization will be offered canopy and table rentals at low cost:
To help manage your service station activity, your organization can be provided with the necessary volunteers, at your request, to help run your service station. Volunteers will help by facilitating the service activity, assisting event participants, or any other way to fit your needs. How? It's easy. Just indicate the number of volunteers on your application and volunteers will be there to help you from set up to clean up on April 25th at Servapalooza.
What is expected of a Servapalooza Community Organization?
To qualify to host a Servapalooza Service Station, there are five simple requirements:
- Design a tabletop service project, provide materials for the activity and either manage your service station project yourself or with the help of volunteers.
- During the service festival, promote your organization by sharing with participants and educating them about the needs in the community and how your organization meets those needs.
- Provide ways for youth and adults to sign-up and volunteer for service opportunities at your organization.
- Bring or rent one 10x10 canopy to define your own space. We also recommend you bring tables and chairs. If you are interested in renting a canopy, tables or chairs, simply complete the rental form included below.
Provide a copy of your Certificate of iInsurance to be given to Excel Youth Zone through email (servicestation@servapalooza.net), mailed to the address below, or faxed to 858-467-9313 (attn: Excel Youth Zone).

Service Station Booth Rentals
The day of the event, each selected organization will be offered canopy and table rentals at low cost:
- We request that all organizations have a 10’x10’ canopy at their designated site to showcase your organization. This will help separate your Service Station from others at the event.
- If bringing your own canopy and tables, canopies cannot exceed 10’x10’ and no more than 3 tables. We recommend having a chairs for your service station too.
- After your Service Station has been approved, you can find the Service Station Booth Rental Form HERE. Rental Forms are due by April 9, 2010 with payment included. Please download this form and return to
